Fail Every Day

Some would argue that encouraging people to fail every day is a bad first step for the founder of a consulting company focusing on career services and mentorship. I wholeheartedly disagree, and not simply because I'm the guy who's doing it.

If you aren't failing every day you are either lying to yourself, or you are willfully limiting your own sense of curiosity.

I look at where I stand today in 2023; ten years removed from the army, sixteen years from college, twenty removed from failing miserably and getting booted out of West Point. I look at where I stand today and recognize that the place where I landed would be impossible but for the countless times I failed along the way.

In real time, failure can feel terrible. In hindsight it can be empowering; sometimes even funny. The spirit that powered the creation of Watchword is that even in the midst of a sea of failure, anyone can find that speck of potential deep down. Everyone is capable of learning, since just about everyone is curious, or has questions. Everyone is capable of enriching themselves, and finding value in the outcomes they create for themselves at various checkpoints in life.

So follow this blog to get a better sense of how, and why Watchword shapes itself as it does. Join me as I share stories, jokes, and lessons from my own window to the world. I hope what you read will help you see through yours more clearly, and I look forward to hearing all about it.
